The Basics! End-game focuses.
5. Game focuses
a. PvP – Be the best trainer
i. All battles will result in an EXP gain for battling pokemon
ii. Ladder/League based system
1. Each world or realm has its rank system based on wins/losses and Pokemon
2. Cross world rankings match-up against multiple worlds
3. Each worlds is measure in number rank (i.e. 1st, 2nd, etc) and point values (100 points, 101 points, etc)
4. 2 type, unrated and rated
i. In rated, all Pokemon retain stats/etc, but are ‘normalized’ to level 100/255/etc. The normnalization process will ensure that players who ‘have no life’ do not dominate the field. Pokemon who are much higher level will still have some advantage, but not as significant. Points and ranking can only be gained in this style.
ii. In unrated PvP, there is no normalization of pokemon.
iii. Reward system
1. Gain points based on performance per battle
2. Gain points based on weekly/monthly ratings
3. Point spending
i. Can be used for game items/trophies
ii. Most items may be aquired through other means
iii. Example items: High-level potions, rare candies, TMs, and etc
b. Achievement
i. Players gain extra trophies/prizes more meeting typical game milestones (XXX pokemon caught, Rare pokemon caught, XXX NPCs defeated, and etc)
ii. Final 5’s (Elite four-type matches) gain strength(new pokemon, styles, perhaps?) with each defeat.
iii. Reward System
1. Tracking system for non-spendable points
i. Specialized shop where items can be bought based off point levels
2. Rewards for specific achievements
c. Battle island type system
i. Similair to PVP, but with NPCs only
ii. Reward system
1. Similair to PvP based system, with different items for purchase.

Re: The Basics! End-game focuses.
We would need more incentive for PvP other than just being the best. There would need to be some kind of landmarks which garner certain rewards. Off the top of my head...
Limit some items to be earned through PvP only - Choice Scarf, Choice Band, Choice Specs, Balloon (Odd item, it makes you immune to Ground type moves until you're hit with an attack to pop it. Really oddly useful...) Certain TMs for expert moves, things like that.
